ViaCatholica crawler

ViaCatholica helps Catholics find accurate confession and Mass times. Our crawler reads parish schedule pages and weekly bulletins so the times people see match what the parish printed.

How it behaves

• User-Agent contains ViaCatholica; requests are signed with Web Bot Auth (key directory: /.well-known/http-message-signatures-directory).
• Obeys robots.txt, including Crawl-delay. Disallow ViaCatholica to opt out.
• One request at a time per site, at least 30 seconds apart, a small daily ceiling per site, and backs off on 429/503 and Retry-After.
• Reads only a parish's homepage, its schedule page and its newest bulletin, a few times a week; unchanged pages are not downloaded again.
• Never submits forms, logs in, or solves challenges.
